Her post- Nothing beats a good cry

Hi, everybody! Let me apologize for the hell of a mess I have been lately due to some …situations.

First of all, God has given to all women out there a special gift that supposed to help us make babies. But since I’m not planning to give birth any time soon, it’s all about copping with the nerve racks of PMS. Secondly, I’m just one month away from my Final. Sleep problems, weight loss and emotional instability are key words these days. Think of me like at a chameleon. Now I’m ok and I can carry a conversation, next moment you may step aside, otherwise you will drown in my tears.

I tried everything from eating loads of sugar to watching Rio, but in the end, nothing beats a good cry session. I shoved my head into hubs arms and went for it. The result was moist and mushy and his t-shirt went straight in the washing machine. Yuck! And Yuhuuu! My chest felt less congested, my eyes got a good nice polish and I slept last night like a baby, despite that mean full moon.

I've heard that pole dancing workout it's a stress reliever...Ouch, my back hurts!

My husband may not be the ideal husband for you ( I prefer it that way), but I’m willing to rent his services for a day or two per month when you have the impression that the world it’s a bad place and even the ice cream lost the magical effect on you. He can rub your back, wipe your tears and put a smile on your face in a heartbeat. In return, he’ll ask for this:

God damn you, Ben Ten! You are like men's " Sex in the City"

And this ...

He brought heath at a new dimension. Cauliflower florets instead of chips and popcorn?

And if you need further sessions, you can easily trick him with ….

Her Post- Make the best of a fight and own it!

I say tomato, he says potato. That’s how we roll it sometimes. We re not the kind of couple that can last weeks without arguing, but what works for them may not work for us. And it really doesn’t.

As you can remember HERE, he’s an Aries and I’m a Scorpio. Needless to say, fireworks definitely happen how and then and they are not out of joy. I find nothing to be ashamed in walking away in the middle of the street if that means stopping an argue. 90% of time we end up pretty quickly together, laughing and making fun of our immaturity.

Shoshhhmolsghj, munfff snifllensn......

If Saturday things were laid back ( we cooked and took an evening walk), Sunday Faith wanted to have fun. Bicycle lessons were on our list, but hubs got a little grumpy ever before waking up. His morning snoring broke my sweet dreams and there I was, sitting in my butt, half opened-eyes, forced to listen the most horrible “ song”. My plan? Shake it, baby! So I did. I started shaking him back and forth and when that failed I turned to little back punches. That worked. The snoring stopped, but so my lessons.

I have no pitty for him. God bless the woman who did this.I hope she can have some quiet.

“ You never let me sleep! What’s with the back punches? And why a man can’t have a decent sleep in his own bed? I’m cancelling our morning plans, go ahead and figure something else, cause I need more sleep .”

Did you pay attention at his First words?? Sleepy people tend to be very…uncommunicative since they are with one foot in Dream land. So I did that. I packed some snacks and my jumping rope and left the house cat style. Meanwhile, my battery phone got dead. I spend a couple of hours outside, walking or sitting on grass, reading a cheesy magazine while munching an apple.

Draw a line in the middle of the screen. Second plan view: Hubs gets up, gets angry because I’m not there and gets out. He meets with a friend, they hang around and comes back when hunger kicks in, just in time to find me squeezing a tear at “ No strings attached”. We try to ignore each other for like 5 minutes, but Love Wins every time , right?

Kiss  Kiss  Hurray!!

Fights are like bitter sweets chocolate. Bitterness comes first, you almost wanna spit it out, then the sweetness spreads into your mouth and you want it to last longer before going down to your throat, leaving a silky, smooth texture .

Her Post- There’s room for everybody

Breathe.  Just stop for a second being so damn caught in the middle of your daily, small, superficial races. My mom always said that…Well, my mom didn’t really cared much about this stuff, but I’ll say it myself : There’s plenty of room for everybody.

My friend got a job. And he didn’t even tried hard or wished for it. My competitive self couldn’t stop wondering why God choose him instead of me, who I pray each day for an opportunity like that. I was angry, disappointed and ashamed of my thoughts. What human being could be so selfish to feel that for a friend?

Try beat your personal record. You'll find that it's a a deceiving battle.

I eventually figured it out. We are “trained” from childhood to compete. From getting a better seat for a concert, to having a bigger paycheck. That’s why we constantly feel the pressure to do better, be smarter, and if we don’t take action we are called “one of those people who settle for less”. But who can decide for another what is less?? My sister in law wanted to be a saleswoman and to have kids. Why is that “less” if she is Happy? At least  she’s not competing for goals that she doesn’t really care about just to Do Better.

See through your eyes and keep it simple. Life isn't a struggle.

What does the Bible says?

Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men”

Galatians 6:4 “ But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor”

Galatians 5:26 “Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. “

Set yourself free from the trap of envy. Be gratefull.

So today I’m more humble and more aware of all the room we have here, on earth. I’m really bad at math and I can’t count the possibilities that God created for each one of us. Tear apart your little box and start exploring His paths, without looking right or left. Do it NOW !

Her Post- The Day I Had My Soul On Wheels

Hope you all have a better day than me. Mondays are not the devil for me , but today my body wants to rest and just take it slowly. The other night was a full moon night. Me and hubs were turning and tossing in bed like two sausages on a grill, so maybe that’s the main reason of my bad mood.

At least we both had a great weekend. Saturday we had to restock our oh-so-empty fridge. The grocery list included brussel sprouts (obviously), 2% yogurt, milk, whole wheat bread, kiwi, a chicken breast, potatoes, eggs, tuna and others (and my “ Once a week” Diet Pepsi, but give me a break). We also had plenty of tme to do laundry and then watch Will Smith in " I, Robot". Tell me one single person who doesn't LOVE Will?

Sunday was even great. Since I’m naturally a morning person, hubs had get up earlier than usual and once we had everything packed we headed to a nearby park for some bicycle lessons . I am not gonna lie, I was mortified. Seeing all those little children with their fancy smancy bicycles made me realize that I’m not going to be 80 years old and still not knowing to ride a bike.

'Cause mami's a rider, and I'm a roller / Put us together, how they gon' stop both us?'
(Bonnie & Clyde )

C. is the best teacher ever and I knew that. He was kind enough to run beside me and give pieces of advice. Finally, I’m proud to say that I didn’t fall, not even once and by the time we had to return the bike, my little soul felt free and confident on wheels.

Her Post- Friday Theatre Night and God's wink

Hi, there! I hope you all have been waiting this weekend. I know we did, cause tomorrow hubs is going to help me remember how to ride a bike. You see, when it comes to balance , I’m a mess. C. says there are 70% chances that I can get back on track in no time.

The only way to find out is by counting all my bruises in the end. For some people are the hands and for some is the face, but in my case the legs are the one thing that tells you how my live have been so far.

I'm sure you can spot some bruises in this picture taken last summer.

I have scars from childhood when I fell from a tree, I have marks from the time when some glasses fell over my right leg and I have recent bruises from my static bicycle. Never did something to get rid of them, but I heard that adding oranges into your diet help bruises heal more quickly due to vitamin C.

Sometimes, it's better to trust somebody who has little brain and spends days chasing his tail .

Anyway, beside getting hurt, I also know how to enjoy a night with hubs. Yesterday night, we went to see a theatre show, called “ Trouble at The Opera” . Funny thing, the action took place in Cleveland, Ohio. The play was a comedy and we continued to laugh all the way back home, wondering why we stopped going the theatre in the first place.

Being such a Drama Queen, I loved everything about last night performace !

Now, we are literarly walking on air. This morning, C.was on his way out to work (Saturaday's part time schedule) and I was watching the morning news. I didn't even pay much attention to it. Then it hit me. A young female anchor anounced that :

The Lottery Visa winners are no longer valid due to a computer programming problem, the results of the 2012 Diversity Lottery that were previously posted on website have been voided.  They were not valid and were posted in error.  Therefore, a new selection process will be conducted based on the original entries for the 2012 program !!

Oh, man ! These are some serious good news for us. You can read more about the desillusion of not having our name on the winner's list HERE. Maybe God isn't busy anymore !

Her Post- Jump with me and Michelle Obama

Today it’s a great day of my life. I officially finished all my exams. Well, I do have the Big final one in a month or so, but at least there’s a bit of room to breathe.

Don’t know about you, but in my free time I prefer to move rather than just sit in my butt. It gets my mood at another level and it clears my mind. Last summer , my mom sent me a little tool for staying in shape and adding more fun to my daily workout routine.

A year ago I discovered the Jumpe Rope and from that day I’m hooked. At first, jumping rope can be a mountain to climb, but one you get the hang of it, it becomes more and more pleasant.  Looking for a good photo for this post, I stumbled upon an imagine with Michelle Obama herself jumping up and down like a school girl. If the first lady and I share the same passions, then it’s another proof that we choose well our future home country .

Besides your own endurance, there is one more thing about this cardio workout…Everyone is watching you. I mean from grannies to little kids and even bickers or middle age divorcee women, they all approached me. Hubs suggested that we should ask them to pay a ticket for staring at me.

Wouldn’t be hilarious if a bunch of people with sodas, popcorn and chocolate were watching and cheering “ Go girl, go girl , jump the rope and give us a swirl”, while I jump the heart out of me, bathed in sweat??

As long as people don't throw this stuff into my face, I'm good!

Oh, and guys, trust me, a jumping rope is better than a dog when it comes to getting yourself a date. Now, you must excuse me cause I’m going to practice what I preach :).

Smarty Pants Tip : According to the Compendium of Physical Studies, jumping rope for 10 minutes can burn as many calories as jogging at an eight-minute-per-mile pace. If you don't believe me, ask this guy over HERE.

Her Post- Weekend Recap and a Fun Video

Monday morning doesn't bother me too much. Especially when breakfast looks like this...

Strawberries are pricey thesse daus, but my mood is priceless.

It means I get to have a fresh start. My Monday morning begin with an intense leg workout that included some pylometrics . Don’t worry for my neighbours. A nice couple moved a week ago in the downstairs apartment and they already doing renos. Today will be another day of History Press. Thank God my PMS is no longer around here.

Saturday it was time to fly away for a couple of hours. We went to see the Aeronautic show and we had a blast.

They seemed happy up there, but I wouldn't want a vibrating motor right under my butt while my legs are hanging from that high.

A "bird" of steel trying to " rescue" a bunch of special forces soldiers.

Make it snappy, will you, because little doorfs are good wrestlers too.

I sneaked behind police man's back and went for a ride...Almost. Cause kids were standing in row for a similar photo, so I had to let it go. Instead, we break our necks trying to follow some awesome flying machines.

We became ecstatic when the men waved us and I was screaming on the top of my lungs. Everyone had a ripper of a time as you can see for yourself here ...

Did you had fun during weekend or did you miss the boat?

God is busy, I’ll wait!

So guess what? We couldn’t find our names on the American Lottery Visa winners list. That means only one thing: we’ll have to come up with a better plan if we really want to live in the US. Back to the drawing board :).
Such news is hard to swallow, but these days a new version of me takes over. A year ago, my nerves would be all over the place. Now I’m just waiting. Could you believe that I felt joy for those who did win? Who am I? We both keep our chins up, cause we are aware of one thing only: His timing is always perfect.

Wait on the Lord: Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait I say, on the Lord.   Psalm 27:14

We now pray for over two years to find a solution for our American dream. It’s a conscious dream, without being so naive to think that America is a dream land, where people live in luxury, eating lobster and drinking wine. We have a TV and also a brain, so a fool’s paradise is out of question. Although it seems a piece of cake for Him to make us happy, God remains quiet. I like to believe that He's busy with something bigger, like world pace. Truth is, God wants us to wait. And learn. And obey.

A caterpillar middle name is " Patience". It knows God has a great plan already made !

In the last year, our relationship has grown so much. We became more wise, patient, forgiven. When we will be prepared, when He will smooth the path for us, then it will be the perfect moment.

Till then, we have to believe and wait, even that means waiting forever and a day !

Her Post- Most Memorable Moments From April

Hi, folks ! While studying yesterday morning before my first exam, I started to thing about something more pleasant and I remembered what Peanut Butter Fingers-here does every month. A review. So I made a mental list of all the good things that happened to us in April. Surprise, surprise ! Although I may become a library rat in the fast few weeks, I also have enough reasons to cheer myself up.

That's another bright part of a blog. You get to take a step back and enjoy your own story!

After school, me and some of my colleagues went to a bar, to celebrate our last days together and to feed ourselves with positive energy. Sadly, there wasn’t much oomph in that meeting. Someone came up with the idea that they should order a “Beer Wheel” . I ordered a Lemon Nestea. Not because I don’t ever drink ( which is kind of true), but cause I can’t stand that awful, biter taste. Period. Call me a party buster, but I refuse to drink like a fish just for the sake of socializing. Tomorrow, I’m going to take a day off from study to relax and drink plenty of this

Sweet and juicy cherry lemonade goodness

But enough about me, lets talk about ...

Her Post- The reason Nancy Sinatra should be affraid of me

Cause I know how to use a gun, baby!

I did it, I finally did it! My publication was invited to join a Press Gun Shoot Competition, so yesterday morning woke up feeling like a million dollar girl, for no reason at all. I was short in time and I came up with a Mixed Workout that looked like this:

30 bird dog each side with dumbbells
30 back lunge and twist
30 squat , front raise dumbbells and then pull weights behind
20 reach under side plank with a dumbells
30 demi plie bicep curl
25 Single leg deadlift with dumb.

                                                             20 windshield wiper each side
                                                             25 spider plank
                                                             20 walking plank
30 raised clams with ankle weights
                                                             20 wood chop

I took me 43 minutes and I did break a sweat, which was my main goal!

Then, it was time to go. Little did I knew what was about to happen. The Police Academy is located somewhere nearbie a forest, and even I have movement sick, the car trip was smooth thanks to the view.

Ready, fire!

They received us with loaded guns, just like they supposed to, but I got a little intimidated by the dozen of cops standing before me. Each journalist had a “teacher”. Mine was a graduated college girl, a future police officer, that totally made me outshine with her beauty. Beside being so damn pretty, the young woman was patience enough to tech me the basics of a shooting gun.

And that's how I have my back covered in case I ever get a parking ticket!

Believe me when I say that Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis are two very good actors, cause they tricked us to believe that loading a gun is easy. Pointy, shinny and golden, like jewelries ,bullets gave me a hard time. I almost break a sweat trying to get some of it in the gun magazine.

When it was time to put some holes in our fake enemy, faith played a little game with me. It was blood all over my white furry vest and I was in deep pain. The reason? Since my adrenaline was all over the moon, I ripped a small piece of skin from my cuticle that was bugging me. You might remember about my nail problems from this post A bad bad habit!

Winston Churchill
"This is no time for ease and comfort. It is the time to dare and endure"

Needless to say that they put the whole event on hold because of me. But just for 2 minutes, no more. You would think that the men of law have no idea how to fix a bleeding wound. They proved me the opposite. The colonel himself pulled out of his pocket a little bottle of antibacterial spray, a small box o salve and some bandage adhesive bandage and fixed my finger in no time.

I present you my saviour! Behind this tough guy attitude, he's a joker and a good leader.

I was like a blind owl without my glasses on, but still managed to get 29 of 30 points after the first session of shoots. I could hear Nancy Sinatra singing to me “ Bang , bang” …The competition was won by a pro in this area and I couldn’t be more happy for him .

My purpose was very clearly: Enjoy the experience, Don’t compare with nobody and Score one shoot right.

See those juicy fruits over there? I sneaked one pear and one orange into my bag for hubs.
Last time he was in town, I had a piece of pizza :).

After that, we all been invited to have some drinks and appetizers at their cafeteria.
